I have been using a camera for years in the conventional ways: storing wonderful family moments, a beautiful sunset,
a holiday somewhere.
Then taking the camera everywhere meant I could record a landscape, seascape or something else I wanted to remember for
when I got into my studio to paint. I have my trusty pad and pastels always in the back of the car but the camera
proved invaluable too.
Using the camera had pushed the boundaries of my work with paint and other mediums. And now I also enjoy the process
of capturing something with it - it's immediate, instant and with a witty, fresh angle creates another creative outlet
to stand alongside my paintings.
I continue to use the natural elements that create a certain light, a texture and sometimes a distortion.
I can still enjoy being creative with compositions but also look forward to using a whole new language.
