“Having discovered a passion for drawing and painting some
years ago, I have enjoyed finding out just how far one can go with
the different mediums. I started with pencil and have been working
with charcoals and pastels (both soft and oil), watercolours, gouache,
acrylics, and oils, at times mixing some or all of them.Equally
important to my work is the texture of the surfaces used, be it
papers, board, wood or canvas.
I live close to the sea, and am fascinated by the amazing skies,
seascapes, and landscapes that change before your eyes; much of
my work is based on this phenomenon. I love the colours and forms,
and have a strong interest in working the abstraction of both land
and sea, taking them back to their most simple forms and shapes
using texture, colour and directions of paint.
This whole experience of
this work is a journey, and to occasionally arrive is pure joy.”
